Road Trip Tips

Posted on April 20, 2021April 29, 2021 by katejennings

Next up in my arsenal of tricks: sticker puzzle books. My Aunt Judy sent Bug a Paw Patrol sticker puzzle book for Easter, and she hasn’t put it down, so of course for this trip I hopped on Amazon and ordered five more. In this one she matches the shape to where it is supposed to go to complete the puzzle picture (this book is critters because I of course buy all things with ladybugs and bumblebees and am definitely targeted ) In others she has, she matches the numbers together to create a picture. She’s practicing number recognition, shape recognition, and memory. She’s also working to build her self-esteem and confidence by accomplishing something, and in the end she has a concrete thing to look at to show her hard work. Building self-esteem plays a huge role in helping kids feel confident in appropriately expressing themselves. I’m sure as a parent, too, to “ooh” and “ahh” over her finished product in order to boost that pride just a little higher.
